Dominic Nahr arrived at Fukushima on 11th march 2011, one day after the earthquake and tsunami that lead to a never seen before nuclear accident. This visual narration is an immersive and sensorial re-contextualization of the pictures he took since then, introducing the consequences on the many victims after the catastrophe : the territory, the human body, and the mind.

This is what Elysium Gardens, a virtual paradise, as you want it, promises. And you, how would it be, your afterlife?

Deconstruction and explanation about virtual worlds

Can we live in virtual worlds? The virtual is often frowned upon. "You play video games too much," my mother used to say. And yet we will try to answer it together. A virtual world is a world created artificially by computer software and able to host a community of users present in the form of avatars, having the ability to move and interact in it. The representation of this world and its inhabitants is in two or three dimensions. There are millions of people playing online games daily. Some even own houses, which they decorate, which they build. They create tight-knit communities.
Through the exploitation and the continuation of the work of J.F. Lucas, I offer an explanatory and contemplative work in order to deconstruct the notions of the inhabitant of the virtual world. What are the dimensions of immersion in a fictional world? What does it mean to live there? How can these virtual inhabitants build a real life in society?

Data Visualization on the mysterious Kowloon Walled City, the densest place on Earth before its demolition. This work takes roots in the work of Greg Girard, trying to explain the history of this historic oddity, how government tried to erase its existence, how people remembered, through inhabitants testimonies, infographies and illustrations.

Fake advertising campaign, science popularization
In collaboration with Quentin Delhaye from Ohme, a collective linking art and sciences, a fake brand for his 3D ships has been created. A retro ad was then developed using all the infomercial visual codes. Logotype, animations, packaging, directing, acting, editing, 3D models.
